Importance of Hydration for Muscle Pain and Sports Injuries

Now that the weather is finally getting warmer, I often have patients asking me about water and hydration.

A large percentage of the human body is made from water, so keeping hydrated is very important.

Below is a little snippet of an article I wrote about hydration found at the Brio Website

I treat injuries on a daily basis and patients who are well-hydrated respond much better to treatment.  I’d like to share with you two reasons why hydration helps with injury recovery:
1) Increased water intake results in increased blood volume:  Whether I’m doing acupuncture, low-level laser therapy or Naturopathic pain management, you will always hear me talk about “circulation.”

Forks over Knives Movie Screening

In Celebration of Naturopathic Medicine Week, Brio Integrative Health Centre will be hosting a screening of a very popular movie called, "Forks over Knives"

Forks Over Knives is a film that examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods.

Naturopathic Medicine Week May 7 to 13, 2012

What is Naturopathic Medicine Week?

Naturopathic Medicine Week is a national event that happens every year in May.  Naturopaths from around the country open their clinics and participate in community events to promote healthy living and preventative medicine.

This year we have launched a British Columbia specific website:

Dr. Jeff is the BC representative and his role is to support each Naturopath as they put on their events.
