Sports Injuries, Athletes & Low-Level Laser Therapy

As many of my patients know, I play a variety of sports. I grew up playing tennis, soccer and ice hockey.

During my more daring years, my sport of choice was bombing down trails on my dual-suspension mountain bike or trying to catch big air on my snowboard. Needless to say, I got injured a lot.

My love of sports and my experience with injuries have shaped the way I practice medicine. I work with many athletes and I treat sports injuries. I get the best results using a combination of acupuncture and low-level laser therapy on acute sports injuries- from sprains, strains, tears and fractures.

On my recent trip to the Meditech clinic in Toronto, I learned that professional athletes are using low-level laser therapy to treat their injuries. Teams such as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, and Miami Heat all have the Bioflex professional system in their rehabilitation facilities.

The video clip below features Antonio Davis from the Toronto Raptors and how he recovered from a Tricep muscle injury using low-level laser therapy.

I only wished that low-level laser therapy was around when I had all my injuries!
